| Cetona is a lovely, well preserved,
medieval village, in the Siena Province in southern Tuscany, only ten
minutes from the "Chiusi" exit of the A1 motorway ("Autostrada
del Sole"). Rome is a one and half hour drive while Florence is about one hour
away. Also Perugia and Assisi can be reached driving less than an
hour. |
|
|
The nearby railway station of Chiusi Scalo is
served by frequent Intercipty trains, also international. The time to go
to Rome or Florence is little over an hour. |
| Because of its position, Cetona is the
ideal base to visit the countless charming villages in the region as
well as the renowned centres of art like Florence, Perugia and Rome. |
 |
 |
Cetona its also famous for the prestigious
Chianti vineyards and old olive trees, from which an especially light and
tasty oil is produced. |
|
In the area you can find many small traditional "trattorie"
(typical restaurants), and many wonderful "Poderi" (typical
farmhouse with little extension of land around), often hidden among
cypress, on the hills. |
