| Cetona is a lovely, well preserved,
medieval village, in the Siena Province in southern Tuscany, only ten
minutes from the "Chiusi" exit of the A1 motorway ("Autostrada
del Sole").
Rome is a one and half hour drive while Florence is about one hour
away. |
|
|
The
nearby railway station of Chiusi is served by frequent national and
international trains, which take about one hour to Rome or Florence.
Perugia and Assisi are only 45 minutes by car.
|
| Because of its position, Cetona is the
ideal base to visit the countless charming villages in the region as
well as the renowned centres of art like Florence, Perugia and Rome. |
 |
Cetona its also famous for the prestigious
Chianti vineyards and old olive trees, from which an especially light and
tasty oil is produced. |
|
In the area there are many superb little "trattoria" (family
restaurants with the tradition of excellent food) and many beautiful
"podere" (small land plots with typical country houses), often
hidden on the mountain-sides surrounded by cypresses. |
